Stolen Valor... Or Just Stupid?

(19 August 2012) Supposedly this knucklehead posted on Ron Paul's Facebook page recently (has since been removed) the following comment:

"Wounded Veteran and you Sir have my support Sir!! USAF brat & Flyer, RANGER, SF MEDIC, HALO JUMP MAster!! The VA claims that my PTSD is not a combat injury but a mental disorder; so I enlisted and have a TANGO SEIRA CLEARANCE AND I HAVE A MENTAL DISORDER?!! So I get my disability from social security!! I hate it Sir!!!
Nick " SKI " ANDROSKY

Yes, he posted his phone number.

Visit this page as well and it will give some current

information on the SCOTUS case v. Alvarez:

Updates below the list of awards and decorations.
Current as of 09 Aug 11

Obviously standing at attention because he feels his life is in danger, Androsky forgot
to fix his tie.

Green, Blue, and Tan - Fashion Faux Pas

The blouse was getting extremely heavy for Androsky, and had to take a break.

Don't know why the dog looks happy - 2007 photo

I’m telling you, this is the largest bag of goppity goop, tard material I have ever seen.  I just wish the guy took the time to straighten out his tie and/or after spending $300+ on the uniform and ribbons, at least get a $10 haircut.  If someone would like to act as if they’ve served their country, at least spend a little time studying AFI 36-2903—desert boots are not authorized with the service dress uniform, only black, highly polished boots and you better be a PJ, Combat Rescue, SERE, or TACP.

Androsky has seriously embedded himself in the dumbass, what the f**k hall of fame.  The fashion faux pas with the tan boots and wearing blue is something a rainbow in AF basic training would understand on day two--I really love how he gave the "Battle of Lackland Expeditionary Service Medal (AF training ribbon) such precedence that it is on the fourth row, "big mistake Nick."  On the other hand, he didn't give two turds where he put ribbons on the 42 racks he's wearing, so I'll give him the Battle of Lackland Medal mistake.

Our nation has some serious issues in operations Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, and that fiasco in Libya--I honestly believe that with Nick's new found background and operational experience, he could either advise the President or just lead all three operations by himself and tell POTUS, "don't worry about it, I got it, as long as you hook me up with the  Joint Service, DOD, AF Staff, Commander's, and White House Detail badges, thanks Barack!"  Nick was so busy earning every single decoration and badge at Clothing Sales, that he forgot to hit up eBay for the Medal of Honor.  Frankly though, if he was "sporting" the MOH, I think we would be talking about the four guys that whooped his ass and are up on manslaughter charges.

For the moment, Androsky has provided our close knit military family with enough fodder that would make a TCN laugh.  I am really hoping he shows up in the DC area so that I can meet this hero, take photos with him, ask him a few questions and punch him in the throat on behalf of all the personnel that rightfully earned those sacred medals and badges and then I'll hook him up with the Girl and Boy Scout Badges at the local Pawn Shop for his collection.  At the end of the day, I believe that the piss on Jane stickers I see at the VFW will soon be replaced with Androsky's photo and to answer my title,  "Stolen Valor... Or Just Stupid," Stolen Valor, maybe on some level, but Stupidity, most definitely.  Enough said, “RocK,” out.

Updates:

17 Jun 2011 - 2200 EST -
I once wrote a story on here about the Stolen Valor Act… this guy (to the right and below), purportedly Mr. Give Me Another Badge, I Want Another, USAF MSgt Nickolas J. Androsky, showed up for a graduation ceremony at Fort Benning (Sand Hill), on Wed, 15 Jun 2011, wearing the uniform with 15 rows of awards and decorations, and 7 badges from the Army and Air Force.  He was there to see his stepson graduate from training (I am unaware of type of training) and is married to a 54 year-old--Androsky is supposedly a 33-year old.  Also, Androsky served in the the AF from 1999-2006, in the 41st Airlift Squadron and was discharged as an E-4.  Upon arrival, Androsky reportedly complained to the unit leaders that he was disrespected by unit personnel and that is where Androsky found himself scrutinized.  After questioning, the Benning MP's happily escorted him off base.

18 Jun 2011-1330 EST - His life in the past few days has forced him to take down his Facebook page.  Let's hope he get's a clue and doesn't pull a stunt like this again.

19 Jun 2011 - 1305 EST - List of his Awards and Decorations below.
**I especially like the DOT Coast Guard 9-11 Medal that is backwards, awarded for recognition of civilians and military members who performed heroic deeds and valorous accomplishments in the immediate aftermath of the 11 Sept, 2001 attacks on the USA.

19 Jun 2011 - 1055 EST - Photo of Nick Androsky from 2007 above with his dog.

20 Jun 2011 - 2151 EST - I have emailed Mr. Androsky in hopes that "we" could get some clarification on this debacle.  Standing By...

20 Jun 2011 - 0952 EST - So I keep looking around for more fodder on this guy, and from Shadowspear, the actual individual that spoke with MSgt Dufflebag states, "Last night at 1830 or so, I'm chewing over the boss's Concurrent TNG Guidance, when this guy - he wants to speak to the CSM about a DS disrespecting him...,"  Oh yes.  This walked into my Battalion HQs, also wearing a Green Beret with his pants bloused into desert boots.  Claims he was authorized everything he's wearing, and spent 8 years in USAF before being medically retired (you know, from wounds and all...).  Notice the poopy-face; the outcome was not what he expected.  He was given a free ride in the back on an MP patrol car."

22 Jun 2011 – 0810 EST – Androsky has not responded to my email but the following message was left here on the blog:

“I was stationed with the guy at Pope AFB from 2000-2006, he was discharged for illegal use of drugs, never even saw combat of had PTSD.  Spent quite a while in jail at Camp Lejune before he was discharged and he was only an E-4 at his courtmartial, E-1 at his discharge.”

That explains it folks, Androsky was higher than an aerostat when he pulled this stunt.

Since this small comment, I did a little research and found information that is listed below.  Nothing else concerning his case could be found and I am reluctant to assume whether he was court martialed and sentenced to jail and/or discharged either in 2004 or 2006.  Androsky is listed on VetFriends that he was in the USAF between 1999-2006, yet if his case fell in the Court of Appeals in 2004, I would safely assume his discharge was conducted then or after a possible sentence ending in 2006.   For sake of limiting the amount of text, I have excluded information.  You are more than welcome to search both documents at the following:  09 Apr 2004 or 15 Jun 2004

I spent some time, at the closest possible zoom, without distortion, looking at each individual medal/ribbon and comparing them to the many branches/charts that he picked from.  I know for a fact, based on my experience at "military clothing sales" (AAFES), that one cannot purchase all of Androsky's decorations in one store.  He must have spent some time on the many websites that proliferate honorable awards and decorations.

09 Aug 2011 - 0747 EST From the folks over at This Ain't Hell, have uncovered some documents that reveal the "sickness" that many folks believe has caused Nick to perpetrate a Soldier, Airman, and a Coasty.  At the end of the day, Nick is a Crackhead that has made some poor decisions and continues to make them today.

  2. Yeah, I saw that website when I researched his name on the net. 6 years of flying still doesn't get you master enlisted aircrew wings. Still a tard.

  3. As a career USAF AFSOC veteran, I find this both shocking and disappointing. He must have some sort of mental problem to think he was going to get away with this...

  5. This guy definitely has something wrong with him! I hope someone had a psychiatrist talk to him before they let him go. I'm pretty sure he's not mentally there. No one in their right mind would wear desert boots with blues! Someone should have known something was wring with this guy from a distance!

  6. I wish I had been there. That would have been so much fun.

  7. This is kind of sick--seriously? But I'm not surprised. Selling some of our old uniform accessories (rank, ties, blousing bands) on eBay, you'd be amazed at the number of people asking me if I have ribbons or medals. When I ask 'which ones' they say that any would do--they're collectors. Makes me wonder just where they'd end up.
The medals we've EARNED are not to be discarded (or taken up) so lightly.

  11. When we take a serious look at this individual, it's likely he is suffering from a mental problem (possibly received or exacerbated in the military?). So I think we should feel sympathy more than righteous indignation. No harm, no foul.

Let's not pound ourselves on the chest for belittling an easy target. Although he does look ridiculous. (Does Air Force have Air Assault?)

  12. I was never in the USAF, but I was a Marine posted on a USAF base for over 2 years [Stewart ANGB]. I think I've seen enough AF personnel in their uniforms to point out this little gem: I think he's wearing a females blouse. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the male blouse have pockets on the top, just below the ribbon rack, but on both sides?

  14. *sniff* *sniff* ... I smell a hoax

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yep. That's a female blouse alright. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The blouse that Airman Dufflebag is wearing is a male blouse. The Service Dress Blouse for men, adopted in 1993 has three fake pockets two, one on each side, on the lower portion of the blouse and a left-side fake pocket on the breast (the medals/ribbons) lie on this pocket. The breast pocket, barely visible, underneath the ribbons, aren't square and rise at a slight angle. Personally, the "airline pilots uniform," was not well received and although the change in fabric was nice, should have remained with the traditional 4 pocket/4 button design. I have always said, "the Marines, 250+years of tradition, and the Air Force, 50+ years of change." Bad or good, why fix something that isn't broken.

  17. @ "sniff, sniff," I have been holding my reluctance, and hope that this isn't a hoax, but there are legitimate folks out there that have backed this story.

I have to say that this is the most RETARDED thing a civilian can do. I find it to be extremely disrespectful to those of my brothers and sisters who have died giving him the right to be this stupid. They unfortunately earned their medals and decorations the hard way and for this tool to go buy them and say he's "earned them" is truely hilarious. My entire squadron would have come out to whoop his ass on behalf of those who gave all and we happen to be one of the most deployed units in the AF. As a 13 year career NCO/E6 I have earned every ribbon/medal on my chest and wear them proudly and now I feel slighted by this douchebag. Hopefully he'll get help before he gets his ass whooped by a lot of disrespected military members...past and present.

    1. oh, come on, he has a constitutional right to freedom of speech! Our CinC says so!!!!!!!!

      Delete
    2. The CINC is on the supreme court? who knew. You, obviously. Just because someone is within their right to do something, doesn't mean anyone is saying it's ok (even your nemesis Obama). I find the N, F and C words distasteful, but I would never bad them simply for it. And what does this guy get for his fraud? well deserved scrutiny and hate along with some borderline stalking and privacy invasion. It's checks and balances. Go cry somewhere else.

      Delete
  22. That is as current as it can get. Historically, the problem with Stolen Valor Cases or applying the rules/law set above is that defendants have applied "freedom of speech" and most cases are dismissed. In Androsky's case, his punishment is the mere fact that millions have viewed these photos and will never forget his face. From last week on, Androsky will face scrutiny and will most likely never be able to set foot on another base and/or if he pulls this stunt again, well, I feel sorry for him.

  24. He was in my squadron at Pope AFB back in the 90s, and I flew with him on more than one occasion. He got into some trouble, but I can not recall what it was for exactly. He is a Military Veteran with a high likely hood of having some mental distress. However, I do know that he never saw combat.

  29. If anyone's curious #32 is a Republic f Vietnam Gallantry Cross

Yep, when Andronsky twas but an unfertilized egg he went to 'Nam

Oh and #29 is United Nations Somalia

I wonder why he went with so many small racks (looks sloppy)

Instead of 4 Two Ribbon, 1 seventeen Ribbon, and 1 Fifteen Ribbon

He could've just used 1 Thirty-one Ribbon and 1 Nine Ribbon and it'd look alot neater

As far as his Jacket's cut USAF Male and Female both look like blazers (and both lack patch pockets), story is that the CSAF from '91-'94 wanted to turn the Air Force into an Airline (complete with sleeve braid officer rank) a saner successor reattached epaulets for the officers but all the jackets kept the 'blazer' cut

  30. Whats more surprising than Androsky's infractions against military tradition is the fact no one here recognizes the signs of a menatlly disturbed person. Give the blogs a read and consider Androsky's course of actions since departing the AF, no evidence of direction or goals or success, emotionally riddled posts on his page are illogical and seemingly address fictional situations. As a prior service member of the AF he most certainly should have been able to pull off a false uniform, I would say this was intentional. This very well may have been a final cry for help at the gates of FT. Benning. I hope for god's sake he gets help before he chooses violence as a course of action. Open your eyes airmen and soldiers beyond what is presented to you, you are trained to observe and recognize what is not obvious to others.

Big props to him for having the balls to demand to see the Sergeant Major.

    ReplyDelete
  33. In my eyes the look on the guys face tells it all. He is looking for someone to notice him. Apparently a Drill Sgt at Benning did. Too many people talk about how he needs help and not what caused his problem. My personal bet is he had an issue before he enlisted. For me and mine I can say this with all honesty, better he land at a TRADOC installation than someplace where people do not humor senseless attempts for help like this.

  44. For the one speculating on whether this WD is in the CAP...if he were to wear some getup like that in the CAP with stuff he hadn't earned (in CAP, any military decorations have to be documented via DD214/NGB22 or you don't wear them) he would be out the door with a Form 2B (the form kicking you out of the CAP) up his butt so fast his head would swim more than it already does!

I am a Captain in the CAP. I take the privilege of wearing the (modified) uniform of the United States Air Force as a great responsibility and am proud of our historical connections with USAF. I cringe when I see stuff like this.

But technically, isn't the fact he's wearing some of these awards on his chest actually illegal? I mean, some of the stuff listed are Congressional awards. I thought that unless you had expressed permission to wear these particular awards, you could face fines or jailtime.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong; I'm highly curious...

  51. How do you (legally) get 3 CIBs ? 11Bs from WW2, Korea, Vietnam did. Could you get 3 for being 11B from Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan ? Don't think there are too many Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq/Afghanistan guys running around.

The scary thing with this guy is that he could have gotten a haircut, better fitting uniform, regulation low-quarters, and rocked a couple of things he didn't earn (Iraq Campaign Medal, AF Combat Action Medal, Bronze Star), and no one would have been the wiser.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Here is the Court-Martial Order:

    http://afcca.law.af.mil/content/afcca_opinions/cp/androsky-s30343.pc1.pdf

It came out in 2004. He may still have been technically enlisted until 2006 but he probably only really work until 2002, CM in 2003, His final appeal done in 2005, and his discharge in 2006 - not sure if it would be fair to count this as "six years of service".

This would explain why he had minimal understanding of dress regs as a civilian would probably know better than an Airman sniffing shoe-polish.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I am in the military and believe if I ran into a guy posing as a recipient of so many accolades, I would do my best to see him escorted away from any official function and certainly off base. Perhaps attempt to see that he stops by the mental health clinic on the way out. The idea of kicking his ass seems a bit similar to the idea of stopping the short bus on the way to school and beating a kid for wearing a superman emblem and cape. I am committed to excellence and the fair treatment of all - that means I don’t beat up sick fucks with mental problems.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I suppose we could focus on the positive? After all, he went with E7 instead of CMSAF. He didn't sew Army or Coasty stripes on his (female) AF service dress. He's not wearing the MOH.

It could have been worse. Either way, I'm glad he is has been caught and exposed for being such a fraud.

    Greets from Osan AB :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. This guy is clearly a schizophrenic or something. All you tough guys talking about kicking his ass, is that seriously the caliber of judgment and empathy in our military these days?

If this was some used car dealer pushing a line to feel like a bigshot or boost sales, I would agree wholeheartedly. This is someone who's sick and doesn't have a clue what he's doing.

Even the drug abuse is consistent with someone who's mentally ill. Absent real help, they often "self-medicate."

The guy needs medical attention, not hatred and scorn. You may as well be mocking a stroke victim because he talks funny.

  56. I even think the the U.S. badges on his lapel are wrong, we did away with the round metal thing in what 1999? officer and enlisted just had U.S. with no metal ring.

  57. Officers just have US, Enlisted still use rings.

  58. rarely met an Air Force dude who knew how to load a rifle much less use one - especially enough to earn a US Army Combat Infantry Badge (takes 30 days IN a combat situation serving as a US Army INFANTRYMAN.
    11Bravo = straight-leg infantry. Anything less is a wantabe...

  59. @Commander Dysinger - The AF went back to rounded lapels around 2004 for enlisted.

@Anon 20:43 - You are a grunt moron. Many of you grunts have asked me how to get into the AF (try reading a book).

We have Special Operations, which I was a part of. I was a weapons specialist. Many SP's are assigned to the Army and so are Radio Men (TAC P) who wear Army units and badges. Try Googling "Combat Control, Pararescue, Combat Weather, TAC P, SP's".

In other words, I have seen plenty AF personel w/ a C.I.B. "Ranger" tabs and Army Air Assault. Not to mention those smart enough to transfer over.

    1. FYI- if you saw AF personel wearing CIBs, then they too are fakes. Army Soldiers serving in infantry units aren't even allowed to wear CIBs unless they are 11B, infantrymen, hence the title Combat INFANTRY badge. Nice try though.

  61. #17 might be an ARCOM, or a Navy and Marine Achievement Medal (or possibly another Naval medal. There are a couple with that green.)

#29 might be Illinois Military Distinguished Service Medal. If that's tan over blue, it is. If there's a thin green stripe, then not.

#34 is another state or regional award. I recognize it but can't place it.

Anonymous: he wants to be a lot more than an infantryman. And lots of former grunts learn to read, join the AF, and proudly wear their CIB. It's authorized. Just not for this $#!+weasel.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It does have a pocket on it, right below the rack's. AF class A's don't have the obvious pocket like we have in the Army, there's looks more like a slit with a protection strip. Not nearly as pronounced as ours are and they only have one pocket on the left breast.

  70. My IQ dropped just looking at this guy... its scary to think that this hypocrite actually was in the service! I thought they weeded the non-hackers out of the military. This guy must have done all those goofy drugs & shit after he got out of basic. If he worn his own awards, rank, etc. he probably would have gotten away with it i could on suspect. Either way this guy seriously needs to rethink his moral objectives.

  74. First, stop making excuses for the guy!! I have worked with mentally ill, military, patients for years, and VERY few, if any, would ever try some BS like this. Second, if there is a mental illness here, which I believe there probably is, he may have caused it himself....solvents and 'shrooms are both widely recognized as having such side effects, but it still isn't an excuse for his behavior.

Very simply stated, there is NO excuse for this crap! He wanted attention; he got it. Every single service member, myself included, past or present, has a reason to want to kick his a**. After almost 24 years AD, a few combat tours of my own, and a number of friends, aquaintances, and men I've trained who never returned home, I have every right to be pissed! Take your bleeding heart, liberal BS elsewhere because you have obviously never been there!

C'mon - anyone and everyone in their right mind would have done it better - but he didn't. Gotta be a reason. If you're going to say "he's stupid" - well, a lower I.Q. can be classified as an impairment. Save the "I'm gonna kick his ass!" for the ones that TRULY set out to fool people and screw them over.

  76. The jacket is the current issue Men's Service Dress. The women's jacket looks the same except the buttons are on the opposite flap (ie, the wearer would insert the buttons through the holes with their left hand instead of their right hand). As for the US collar insignia, the AF went to a single design for both officers and enlisted in the late 1990s but restored the circled US insignia for enlisted about five years ago. Androski is obviously a ridiculously overdecorated fraud but at least his collar insignia is correct for the period he actually did serve.

He wanted to see the Csm but my 1st sergeant was acting Csm at the time. Let's just say 6 infantry drill sergeants were on this guy like a day one private it was very entertaining

  78. To everyone saying things like, "saying you want to kick his ass is a disgrace to the military", just try to remember two things. One: Some gave all to earn those awards and never got the chance to wear them, they were presented to the next of kin so understanding on your part for us taking violent offense is welcomed. Two: in any other time the vets wouldn't be venting on a forum, they would have taken action. So yes, it shows what our military is today. Restrained but pissed.you are welcome.

I have a problem and I don't know what the answer is: I served in the Army for 6 years but I didn't do it out of loyalty or patriotism I did it because I couldn't find a job. Whats a good way to thank people when they say "Thank You for your service"? I can't just blurt out "I did it out of selfishness" so I've been mumbling "thank you" and praying the topic changes.

Any advice? Thanks- Sp/4 Larry2001t AT Yahoo DOT com

The other 99% did what they had to do and most couldn't fathom serving. I say, you earned the right regardless of the reasons for joining. You've got my salute.

  80. Not sure if this has been covered, this idiot is wearing a CIB with TWO Stars...in order to have earned a CIB with two Stars he would have had to have served during the War On Terror, Either Desert Storm or Vietnam AND the Korean War. The KOREAN WAR!!!! That was over 60 years ago. He would have to be nearly 80 Years old!!!

  87. I need help!! I may have another shitbag. I know this guy that I meet at a PTSD support group here in Tampa FL. The “veteran” in question is been caught in many lies about his service. For example; Before I start going to this group, he claim that he serve in Afghanistan with the Army 10th Mountain Division and that he got injured on a patrol on the mountains of Afghanistan. The causes of the injuries were unclear. Wend I start assisting to the support group, I ask is someone would like to go fishing with me because I just move to the area and don’t like going by myself. Well he told me he never been fishing before and that he be glad to go with me. I toke him on his offer and to the pier we wend. We start talking about or experiences in the military and he told me that he is a mechanic and that he hurt his back wend he fell from some equipment in Camp Liberty Iraq, and that the Army don’t medically discharge him, what they did is they send him to a reserve unit to wait for a med board decision. Every time we expend time together the story changes. Every time his unite have the monthly drills he always go to group and make up an story about how stress out he was and that he was going to kill people if he was going to the drill. Then wend the doctor ask him what he can do to help, this guy ask for the doctor to intervene and get him out of the drill. Off course that never happen. He is a big mystery. For 5 years I have been trying to find information about him and his wife/fence/girlfriend (status change every day) but can’t find crap. Like I say before he suppose serve in the Army, which he was a mechanic (he fix my car a few times) and provably he was ATTACH to 10th MD in a point provably in a support roll. I seen his uniform with the badge on and picture that show that same badge, but who knows if he just put them on and the pictures are taken in the backyard! His rank is unclear as well. Last time we went out fishing, I safe he ass wend some real 10th MD soldiers sow his stickers in his truck and start looking for his fellow soldier, all exited they start making sounds and yelling “ How is on the 10th? Whose truck is this?” and off course he respond. They all came to him and start talking stuff I don’t understand, like units names, people names, dates, stories. Wend I saw his face, he was lost in the soup, he don’t know what the fuck does guys were talking about and they notice as well and they put him on his place. The bigger guy (they all were drunk to) start screaming at him “you don’t serve with the 10th, you are a bullshiter” they were piss up! They try to take it on me wend for my luck a few Marines that are station on MC Dill show up on the pier and they sow my tattoos and they did the same like the 10th guys, they provably save my ass from been kick hard. Then the 10th big guy come to me and told me exactly like this, “do let us catch you buddy by himself”. That’s wend I find out for sure he was not 10th MD. This guy is playing the system and is getting VA benefit left and right. A few people, including doctors, service reps, other veterans and my family caught him lying about his service, question his injuries, don’t believe he have PTSD or that he even serve on a combat tour. He lie to me about his disability rate as well. He told me he got 30% and during an argument he forgot what he told me before ( that’s how we always catch him on his lies) and told me he got 10%. This guy need to be stop, he is taking advantage of EVERYTHING and EVERY ONE he can. He is getting free services, free gear, free helps that he really don’t rate! HOW I can find out more information about him?? HELP! You can contact me at colon_edgardg@hotmail.com

  88. My entire family had a lot of fun tracking down all the medals this guy was wearing, and you pretty much shacked the entire list. The only changes I could see are:

#14 – AFGCM (best guess based on order of precedence)
#17 – Armed Forces Service Medal (best guess)
#29 – U.N. Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM) (best guess)
#32 – Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal w/Bronze Star (no doubt at all)
#34 – WTF? I have never seen this combination in my life, and I searched a LOT of places. Maybe a JROTC/ROTC or other state specific award?

You mentioned he had Master Air Force Enlisted Aircrew Badge. The three issues are: Basic, Senior and Chief. Basic is wings only, Senior has the star, and Chief has star and wreath. Those are definitely Chief Enlisted Wings. To earn those you need 10 years of aviation service and 15 years of total service. Since this guy enlisted as a loadmaster right off the street, he would have needed to meet the 15 year requirement. I know, that’s the exact path I had to take. I enlisted in 1980 and didn’t earn my Chief’s Wings until 1995.

Ribbon #32, RVN Gallantry Cross, would not have been issued after 1975 to anyone in the U.S. military. This guy would still have been a babe in arms at that time.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I forgot to mention … #22 could also be the North Carolina National Guard Governor ’s Unit Citation. If he served at Pope in N.C., the BX could have had that state specific award. In which case, it is worn right-side-up.
